Due to the success of the last graffiti exhibition, St. Lorient Fashion & Art Gallery has decided to stage another epic gathering. The theme this time will deal with the theories of hybrids
HYBRID
As the world enters the 21st century, a sense of confusion prevails in the air. The rules of the past used to separate nations, class and interests have become blurred. The earth's population is just as culturally diverse as a modern day spice rack; the fashion of today has seen clothes originally created for peasants become treasured regalia by the rich & famous and a young boy living in Soweto is no longer looked at with disapproving eyes by he's peers for listening to 'Marilyn Manson'.
Popular band 'LINKEN PARK' summed up this generation in the title of their record breaking debut album, 'HYBRID THEORY'. Their music demonstrated a sound of an era that has seen the world creating a future based on the theories of hybrids. We now live in a world where BBC or GOOGLE can be viewed from the convenience of your fridge & vehicles continue to upgrade from petrol to Hybrid (internal combustion & electric power) powered engines.
This exhibition looks at show casing this theory of Hybrids mainly through the use of Graffiti.
